Director of the dance troupe 'Rockabelly Hippies' (formerly 'Magic Band of Gypsies' aka Gypsy Magic) and previously a member of The Wishes Lamp & the Lotus Dancers
Former Assistant Director of Yaleil Dance Company with co-directors Ansuya & Jenaeni Rathor.
Ten+ years of belly dance training with several instructors, including Tamalyn Dallal, Bozenka, Shahar, & primarily Samay, as well as workshops with visiting professional dancers such as Yousry & Nourhan Sharif, Horacio & Beata Cifuentes, Tania Yael Yobi and Nejla Yatkin. Most recently took mini-workshops at Spirit of the Tribes- with Suhaila, Arish Lamm, Zoe Jakes, Rachel Brice, Dalia Carella, & Desert Sin.
Producer of the Annual Elviza's Skeleton Dance/Dia De Los Muertos Spooktacular (formerly Elviza's Evil Halloween Belly Dance Spooktacular) Our 5th annual in 2009 will be the biggest and best yet! We'll be feauturing our show in the spacious and newly decorated Temple in Coconut Grove, Florida- stay tuned for more details!
Former Assistant Organizer of the Miami Belly Dance Meet-up group- 750+ members. Performance Coordinator of all meet-up show events from 2004-2007 (7 shows), as well as a guest speaker 3 times- twice on stage make-up, once for a professional panel discussion.
Have appeared in various local media including the TV shows Dimelo Bailando, Suegras, and Un Poco de Todo, as well as the magazine 'TV Notas' with Itati Cantoral, and in the 'El Herald' newspaper.
Teaching classes weekly since mid-2003 at various locations including Paramount Dance Studio, Superior Performing Arts, Belly Motions, Lady of America gym, Taverna Yassou restaurant, the Pinecrest YMCA, the JCC, and Roxy Performing Arts.
PERFORMANCES INCLUDE:
Weekly performances at Uva Restaurant & Lounge in Coral Gables, March 2004-2008-- including New Year's Eve bashes, Halloween party and many other special events!
Regular appearances at the Belly Motions Sunset Place shows...in 2005-- May 7th, June 17th, July 17th, Aug. 12th, Sept. 10th, Sept. 23rd (Hurricane Katrina benefit), Nov. 11th, Dec. 3rd & 16th (Toys for Tots benefit). In 2006-- Jan. 13th & 20th, Feb.17th, and more.
